AS/400 Analyst/Administrator/PERM/MI

Full time position with my client company in Sturgis, MI

Qualifications:

This position performs the tasks necessary to support and further develop
the
iSeries 400 hardware and software application systems. This requires
technical
knowledge of iSeries operations, administration, and programming necessary
to
maintain current applications, support existing functionality, and
upgrade
hardware and software as needed.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or related
area
from a four-year accredited college or university.

Minimum 2 years experience with iSeries or AS/400 systems operations and
administration to include:
Back up and restore of system objects
Support system software including operating system, application
software and applying PTFs and upgrades
Implementing system and application security
Performing an annual disaster recovery test
Trouble-shooting hardware and software issues
Must have strong background in the utilization of development tools and
utilities including DBU, Hawkeye, SoftLanding Turnover and SoftMenu, and
Robot.

Knowledge of Kronos, Avantis XA, and Data Text Merge software packages a
plus.

Exhibit strong capabilities in writing interactive and batch programs in
RPG,
SQL, CL, and Query on the AS/400.
Effectively perform unit and system testing of applications including the
creating and execution of test scripts.

This position also requires:

Taking a leadership role in applying structured project management
methodologies and related business processes in a federally-regulated
environment.
Teamwork within an IT department supporting a plant manufacturing facility
in a
24 x 7 production environment.
Working with a variety of individuals and end users at all levels of the
organization.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
