LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is required - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is desired - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is desired FUNCTIONAL WORK EXPERIENCES - Information Technology: Network services - Information Technology: Strategy & planning - Information Technology: Vendor management - Information Technology: Security - Information Technology: Enterprise architecture REQUIRED SKILLS - Manage vendor relationships - Research emerging technology and non standard product solutions - Complete technical studies and evaluation of business area needs and technological alternatives with business partners - Developing Competitive Technology and Architecture - Selecting and Applying Technology Solutions - Define standard installation and upgrade methodologies DESIRED SKILLS - Define, develop, maintain, and implement changes to processes based on industry standards and best practices - Develop and maintains architectures for enterprise-wide systems - Research emerging technology and non standard product solutions - Driving Change - Product Evaluations and Assessments POSITION SUMMARY Provides design, implementation and troubleshooting support for a standardized LAN/WAN environment that encompasses 100+ domestic and international locations. Resolves design issues that are presented by office design constraints,systems challenges and performance requirements. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, performance and overall service within the distributed computing environment Develop standardized design templates and automation tools to consistently replicate design standards by other team members. Evaluate and recommend advanced technologies that provide business benefit. Work closely with Network Operations on processes and procedures for handling alerts from network monitoring tools. On a rotational basis provide 24x7 on-call support for level 3 network problems. Support and maintain currency of mission critical IT network infrastructure. Wireless LAN design. Data center networking to support virtual server/ blade servers.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION Strong knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS) based routing and switching platforms. IP routing protocols Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). Wireless LAN knowledge. Cisco certifications - CCNA required, CCNP and others a plus. Working knowledge of servers -Windows, UNIX and Linux. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision; self motivator Works well in a team environment 3-5 years of experience in a large scale LAN/WAN environment (10,000 plus nodes) Bachelors degree. Degree in Engineering, Computer Information Systems or Telecommunications preferred.
