Description: Title Technician - Vending/Fountain Description Field Based Technician Skilled position responsible for the installation, set up, repair and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling and/or fountain equipment at customer accounts. Diagnoses equipment problems, using judgment to determine how to best repair or replace it. Works independently. Has frequent customer contact. May require lifting, carrying, pulling and/or moving between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly over workday Requires kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling and bending when making repairs, often in low places. Position may require moving vending machines weighing 800-1200 pounds. No more than one moving violation (anything other than parking) within the past 12 months Shop Technician Working in-house with a high degree of supervision refurbishing and rebuilding vending equipment as needed, mixing paints, glues and coating materials to proper standards. Preparing equipment surfaces for repainting, resurfacing or application of new decals/facings. May also overhaul internal and external mechanical workings as needed. This job may require lifting/carrying cases weighing 20-45 pounds repeatedly over 10-12 hour period; and continuous standing and walking, manipulating and handling product samples while sitting. Forklifts are used to lift equipment, but may be required to push, pull and move equipment. Also requires kneeling and squatting to work on equipment. This position requires working on vending machines weighing 800 ? 1200 pounds. Primary Accountability ▫ Repair and perform preventative maintenance on marketing equipment ▫ Unload used vending machines and load vending machines for daily delivery; remove old vendor if necessary; bring new vendor in and install, unload and reload with product as necessary ▫ Educate customers on basic equipment repair and upkeep procedures ▫ Install equipment: Make holes and route lines to connect product to dispensing unit; connect water supply, gas supply; find drain for units with ice. For box syrup, build racks and connect lines ▫ Fill installed equipment and adjust to proper mixture ▫ Prioritize and schedule service and PM calls to meet customer service windows ▫ Drive to location, evaluate situation and perform necessary work (may include plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, carpentry) ▫ Collect accurate and complete equipment and customer information ▫ Remove old parts and replace with new parts ▫ Maintain parts inventory on service truck or in shop ▫ Establish positive relationship with contacts at service calls ▫ After each repair/call, complete paperwork on job and call in paperwork every two hours
Position Requirements ▫ Transport miscellaneous items; for example, compressors for repair/scrap, cardboard for recycle, etc. ▫ Mechanical background; experience in garage, electronics and use of mechanical equipment ▫ Must be able to pass refrigeration certification - Type I & Type II Practices ▫ Refrigeration certification preferred ▫ Electronic experience preferred ▫ Basic plumbing and soldering knowledge ▫ Basic knowledge of CO2 and Freon Basic Qualifications ▫ 18 years or older ▫ 21 years or older if CDL Required ▫ Pass the Drug Test ▫ Pass the background check ▫ Pass the validated Selection Test ▫ MVR Background check (Field Based Only) ▫ Senior technician requires certification in refrigeration Helpful Experience ▫ Working with mechanical systems (for example, knowing mechanical concepts, troubleshooting and repairing appliances, performing basic household repair in plumbing, circuits, fuses, and electrical components, or operating hand tools and power tools) ▫ Serving customers (for example, resolving customer issues, ensuring appropriate communication with store managers, or following up on customer requests) ▫ Working with basic refrigeration systems (for example, understanding refrigeration cycle, Freon, compressors, evaporators, or condensers) ▫ Working with electrical systems (for example, understanding flow, wiring, outlets, etc.) ▫ Working with plumbing (for example, working with drains, water supply, ice makers, shut-off valves, sweating copper, or filtration systems, etc.) ▫ Generating and setting work schedules (determining priority of work and building work schedules) ▫ Equipment installation (HVAC, refrigeration, auto, copiers, fountain products, etc.) - Working with moving equipment (forklifts, handtrucks/dolly, etc.)
