DATAFLEX QUALITY CONTROL/VALIDATION

As a Software Engineer, you will be directly responsible for the
successful delivery of assigned components or sub-components and all
associated work products. Working with your Development Team Leader, you
will utilize your background in design and development to assist in
designing solutions that adhere to the defined systems architecture and then
deliver your assigned components.



You will be responsible for providing input and estimates for
development tasks. You will be required to regularly report your progress
against the plan to your Team Leader and/or management.



You will be responsible for performing application development tasks
as required to meet planned deliverables and deadlines. These tasks
include, but are not limited to: producing design documents and/or
development documentation, code development, unit and integration testing,
and component building.



It will be your role to recommend to your management appropriate
mentoring and/or training for yourself to ensure that you are given the
support that you require to be a successful contributor to your team.



Required Experience - The successful candidate will have the following
skills:



Experienced Progress Developer with at least 3 years of experience
working with Versions 8 and/or 9. The successful candidate will have solid
GUI development experience combined with strong organizational and
analytical skills.

The development team is very friendly and open-minded. This is a flat

Requirements:

* 3+ years of Progress development v.8 and 9.

* Experience working on GUI based applications

* Experience with Smart Objects, ADM1 and ADM2

* Experience with at least 1 full SDLC project

* Must be able and willing to travel

* Business acumen

* Ability to be a true team player and work cohesively with
other

department.

* Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Positive, self-motivated attitude












B. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Duties



The development of fully event-driven, graphical, n-tier, object
oriented insurance solutions using the most current version of Progress and
a rapid application development toolset. As a Developer, the primary
responsibility will be the creation and enhancement of computer system
procedures using Progress GUI applications in an Object Oriented
environment.



The secondary role includes providing support of the software programs
and procedures.
The development of complex applications for corporate level... (not
just simple accounting applications)



Miscellaneous duties

Be prepared to travel on occasion in support of the company's project
and/or sales efforts.

Other duties may be assigned as required.






Would be nice to have:

Unix development background, Insurance or Financial or
Mathematical/Algorithmic background preferred.

Progress dataserver for Oracle databases.

Progress Appserver experience.
