All candidates will be asked to describe their experience with Software
Deployment and Repackaging using either Wise for Windows or
InstallShield

You must have experience with either InstallShield or Wise for windows
listed in your resume.

* InstallShield repackaging
* Software deployment tool experience * (Marimba preferred but not
required), SMS, Tivoli, etc.
* Active Directory knowledge
* Software/System Implementation experience
* VMware workstation



The Desktop Engineer position is responsible for repackaging, testing
and deployment of desktop and network software applications and
patches. This includes defining systems and end-user requirements,
formulating work plans for successful rollouts, and executing these
work plans. As a Desktop Engineer, this staff position is also
responsible for documenting support requirements and training the
Technical Support team members. At the direction of management, this
staff position will provide assistance in developing project plans,
defining job scopes, and working with end-users in the implementation
and deployment of assigned projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for enterprise-wide software distributions including:
o Building and deploying software distribution packages for designated
applications.
o Designing and implementing test plans for software applications and
patches on all desktop images.
o Completing necessary debugging procedures to rollout applications
error-free.
o Developing support procedures and related documentation, and training
Technical Support personnel in the use and support of new products and
systems.
* At the direction of management, works directly with the Desktop
Engineer Manager in the development, implementation and deployment of
technical services project plans.
* At the direction of management, works with end-users to assure
accurate definition of technical requirements, job scopes, staffing
needs and fulfillment of stipulated projects.
* Proactively reviews and resolves assigned escalated trouble tickets
from Technical Support. Also effectively communicates the resolution of
end-user problems to the designated Technical Support team members to
ensure user satisfaction and productivity.

* Follows escalation procedures when systems are down, assuming lead
technical engineer position when necessary.
* Responsible for guiding Technical Support team members in providing
creative solutions to end-user problems, questions and troubleshooting
techniques


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

* Attends meetings when necessary.
* Perform other duties when assigned.


Experience/Skills Required:

* Requires demonstrated knowledge in network design, integration and
management.
* Requires demonstrated knowledge of LAN topology, routers, hubs,
switches and network protocols, including WAN/Frame Relay, and TCP/IP,
IPX.
* Requires in-depth working knowledge of Bank supported Desktop
operating systems (Microsoft Windows XP), and the Microsoft Office
suite of applications.
* Requires demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Active
Directory Policies, Exchange and Windows Servers.
* Requires experience using automated software distribution (Marimba)
and packaging software tools (InstallShield), including MSI format.
* Requires demonstrated knowledge of application testing environments.
* Experience automating manual processes using scripting/testing tools
(WinBatch/Visual Basic, RationalRobot) is a plus.
* Requires familiarity with project management principles.
* Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills and the
ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules and
assignments.
* Must posses the ability to work effectively with business personnel
at all levels as well as with outside vendors and contractors.
* Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including
the ability to meet deadlines, follow written policies and procedures,
and maintain superior customer service at all times with all users.

* Must exercise a reasonable amount of independent judgment under
