Environmental Assessment Consultant

Type of Assignment: Contract

Length of Assignment: 3 months

Job Description:
The Environmental Assessment Consultant will provide advice and analysis on processes and activities related to
legal
obligations under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act to the Director-General, the Director of Safety,
Security, and
to various team leaders within the Environmental Assessment Group. In addition, you will support the delivery of
Environmental Assessment (EA) by providing the following services:

• Provide training to departmental EA Staff on federal EA processes
• Expand on already developed EA training materials and develop new training modules as necessary
• Support as required EA Officers (junior, senior and Regional Team Leaders) in their delivery of EAs at the
screening, comprehensive study or panel level
• Real-time coaching and mentoring of junior EA Officers

Mandatory Qualifications:
• Experience providing strategic advice and analysis in the area of Environmental Assessment
• Expertise and knowledge of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and other applicable legislation
• Proven expertise, knowledge, and training experience in regards to the Federal EA process
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the current Environmental Assessment landscape, including the
complexity and relationships with provincial and territorial governments and agencies
• Secret security clearance
