Post subject: Good books on IT project management
Archived from groups: misc>business>consulting (more info?)

I'd like to learn and utilize a formal Project Management methodology
to become more efficient. Can anyone recommend a book or two on PM?
Hopefully nothing too complex - just something to get me started with
the basics. It would be great, actually, to get recommendations for a
first, beginner's book - and then a suggestion for an advanced PM book
to read when I'm done with the first.

I'm interested in what works. I don't know if PM is faddish, or if the
principles are more or less the same. But I'd like to stick to less
esoteric, simple methodologies proven to be effective.
