HOSE APPLICATION ENGINEER-Normal, IL or Detroit, MI

Need engineer for this small hose assembly division plant formed by
joint venture 5 yrs ago by the multi billion parent company. 75
employees. Went from zero in market place to # 1 in 2004. Expanding
rapidly at incredible pace.
This is a precision hose component assembly operation-all hose and
components provided by suppliers

Duties:
· Will act as liaison between the customer and production and
engineering for automotive hose assembly components such as couplings,
fittings and brackets.
· Will assess prototype design requirements (no CAD work), process
requirements, testing. APQP process coordination.
· Manage proposals, quotes, prototype builds and shipments.
· Equipment procurement, evaluations, modifications and training.
· Utilize VA/VE methods for assembly and component design
optimization.
· Domestic and international travel to customers and suppliers.
· Will support Company Lean Mfging and Six Sigma programs.


Requirements:
· Must have 4 yr degree.
· Must have brake and/or hose component experience such as
connectors, fittings and couplings.
· Must know hose materials, components and assemblies.
· Solid understanding of APQP, QS standards.
· Solid machine shop, assembly machinery and equipment experience.
· Must have good interaction skills.

Candidates from Parker-Hannifin, Hitachi-Cable, Aeroquip-Vickers or
Dana highly preferred.
