~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Function Summary: <br> <br>Manage all activities related to a
project, including submittals, cost controls, scheduling,
reporting and document control, in support of the Project Manager
and Superintendent. <br> <br>Essential functions: <br> <br>1.
    Distribute new and updated drawings and
specifications. <br> <br>2.     Research drawing
interpretations, problems and errors. <br> <br>3.    
Monitor and expedite submittals according to the project schedule
and specifications. <br> <br>4.     Research, transmit
and monitor Requests for Information. <br> <br>5.    
Distribute, research, monitor and compile proposed Change Orders,
Architects Supplemental Instructions and other changes and submit
to Superintendent for approval.  Update contract documents
with approved changes. <br> <br>6.     Generate punch
list. <br> <br>7.     Attend and document project
meetings. <br> <br>8.     Manage general
correspondence, reports and other communication. <br> <br>9.
    Supervise interns and subcontractors and support
and train newer Project Engineers. <br> <br>10.    
Other duties as assigned. <br> <br> <br>Nonessential functions:
<br> <br>Depending on the project, these duties may be performed
by or shared with the Project Manager or Superintendent, or may
be performed entirely by the Project Engineer. <br> <br>1.  
  Prepare preliminary budgets. <br> <br>2.    
Solicit bids and quotes. <br> <br>3.     Perform
estimates and take-offs. <br> <br>4.     Prepare and
update project schedules. <br> <br>5.     Use tracking
system to expedite construction materials and equipment. <br>
<br>6.     Update status reports.
<br><br><br><B>Requirements: </b><br>Educational level required:
<br> <br>Four year degree in Construction Management,
Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering or comparable
construction industry experience. <br> <br>Experience required:
<br> <br>Entry-level position; college internship in construction
industry desirable. <br> <br>Business/technical knowledge
required: <br> <br>Construction knowledge <br>Engineering
concepts <br> <br>General business skills required: <br>
<br>Setting goals <br>Project management <br>Budgeting
<br>Problem-solving <br>Process improvement <br>Customer
orientation <br>Team orientation <br>Detail orientation
<br>Self-motivation <br>Verbal and written communication <br>
<br>Management skills required: <br> <br>Supervision <br>
<br>Computer skills required: <br> <br>Personal computer skills,
including Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail
software programs; construction management and scheduling
software; AutoCAD helpful. <br> <br><br>
