Implementation Manager- Capital Markets
Position Purpose:
Reporting to Global Support, this position is to ensure the
infrastructure and operational elements of all IT implementations are
clearly defined and managed. For areas of responsibility provide
leadership, organizational management, financial control, continuous
process improvement and effective reporting to all relevant IT and
Business areas. The implementation project manager will provide
project and implementation management services to IT Applications and
Business initiated projects; liaising with multiple IT and business
(Front, Middle, Back Office) groups across multiple geographies.
Partner with the Business Units and other IT areas throughout the
project life cycle to ensure projects are implemented on time and that
they meet the defined technical infrastructure requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the implementation of concurrent medium to large scale
projects (between 250K – 1 Million) during the initiation, execution
and implementation by ensuring that resources are made available and
that the project scope and requirements are fully developed.
• Lead cross-functional project team by task assignment and follow-up
to ensure on-time completion.
• Develop, monitor and execute project plans and maintain all required
project artifacts.
• Monitor and coordinate timely execution of major milestones,
approvals, sign-offs and implementation.
• Monitor team activities and track progress against plan.
• Develop and evolve the implementation management strategy for
project delivery and engagement management.
• Work with clients, infrastructure and development teams to define
requirements for projects.
• Work with functional team managers to establish common working
practices.
• Provision of project and implementation management support to
project teams in multiple geographies.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and technology.
• Communicate effectively with support staff and the infrastructure
team; database administrators, network analysts, systems analysts,
management and business users. Build and maintain relationships with
all cross functional IT stakeholders.
• Develop Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements.
• Coordinate release of deliverables to customer.

Key Organization Relationships:
• Position reports to Head, Global Support
• Project is based in Toronto with occasional overseas travel required
• Position will directly interact with executives and senior managers
within CM.
• Mix of matrix management / virtual teams
• Lateral relationships with applications and infrastructure group
heads
• Lateral relationships with cross geography application and
infrastructure heads
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
Key Competencies Required:
• 5+ years of project management experience managing high complexity
projects within a Brokerage or Investment Banking environment in
multiple locations.
• 8+ years experience in Information Technology including systems
development, application architecture, infrastructure and
implementation.
• Knowledge of multiple application delivery models (Iterative,
Phased, Time Boxed, Extreme)
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure including servers,
networks, desktops and architecture
• Knowledge of project management, vendor management and people
management practices
• Ability to work with limited supervision and with remote teams
• Strong Negotiation Skills
• PMP certification preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent inter-personal skills.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Expert knowledge of project management tools
