Position: INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER

Position Type: CONTRACT 6 months

Location: Toronto, ON

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manage the day to day project activities of unrelated medium
complexity infrastructure project(s) or large work package(s) in a complex
project/program.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

a.. Plan, execute, control and close out the infrastructure
project(s)/work package(s) against defined scope and budget. Utilize
standards and procedures.
b.. Manage team relationships, delegating to work package
leads. Provide feedback and coaching to team members.
c.. Manage stakeholder expectations, reports project progress.
Contribute to the development of the business case.
d.. Provide input into RFP requirements and selection
criteria.

REQUIREMENTS:

Extensive Work Experience:

a.. Leadership--Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques
for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
b.. IT Project Management--Knowledge of and experience with
tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT
projects.
Work Experience:

a.. Team Management and Team Building--Ability to form, build
and manage effective teams.
b.. Relationship Management--Ability to establish and build
healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.
c.. Influencing--Ability to impact decisions within and
outside own organization.
d.. Decision Making and Critical Thinking--Knowledge of tools
and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions,
frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
e.. Coaching --Ability to encourage, motivate and guide
individuals and teams in learning and improving effectiveness.
f.. Application Delivery Process--Knowledge of major tasks,
deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or
enhanced applications.
JOB COMPLEXITIES/CHALLENGES:

a.. Gathering the business purpose and possible technical
solutions, analyzing the pros/cons, and summarizing as a recommendation in
the project plan; reviewing all team lead status updates, verifying and
analyzing impacts on project plan and issues, and communicating summarizes
results to team and sponsor; analyzing and interpreting project data, in a
project or complex work package, to determine the status of the project and
actions required to address areas of concern; analyzing vendor responses and
change request analysis data to determine recommendations and impacts on a
project prior to determining/recommending action related to issue at hand
and whether to include in project or not.
b.. Continually reviewing and monitoring identified risks for
project(s) to ensure mitigation plan is still most appropriate, reevaluating
and adjusting as required; as change requests are defined reviewing possible
impacts, as well as estimates, to determine viability of considering
inclusion in project and risk of doing, communicating recommendations to
management/sponsor.
c.. Analyzing changes, impacts and recommending actions and
/or alternatives. Analyzing risks/issues and recommends mitigation/actions.
d.. Managing scope and impact of change on project budget.
e.. Assignment of resources and allocation across the work.
f.. Projects up to 25 indirectly supervised, in a matrix
environment but could exceed this.
