Description:
Ensuring the Internet Operations infrastructure is managed effectively,
delivering high levels of service, security and availability. This will be
achieved through effective development and support of the UNIX, Windows and
Cisco based systems; whilst meeting the customer’s requirements and
expectations.

Required skills:
At least 3 years UNIX server platform development and operations experience
in a high availability, secure Internet hosting and streaming environment
At least 2 years Sun, Intel and Cisco based system design, deployment and
management
At least 2 years experience of direct customer support in an IT service
desk environment

Advanced knowledge of UNIX; Sun Solaris/Linux/AIX systems and working
knowledge of Windows server systems
Web servers (Apache, Microsoft IIS, others)
Internet encoding and streaming in a RealNetworks and Microsoft Media
environment
Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP and network security
Reporting Tools e.g. MRTG
Web application development and integration
Knowledge of Perl, mod_perl including CGI security checking, C/C++
including code security auditing and UNIX shell scripting
ITIL working practices


Desired skills:
Audio and video signal acquisition products
Digital rights management software, Content Management Systems, System
Management and Customer Reporting Systems
ISDN protocols and hardware
Oracle/MySQL databases
Java support
