Information Analyst
GSA Search Consultants Inc. has been tasked by the Nova Scotia NDP
Caucus Office to assist them in hiring an Information Analyst to
support the communications, legislative and policy work of the office
by managing lists and creating custom reports from both existing and
new data sources for applications such as direct mail or email.
The Information Analyst will work with legacy databases, predominantly
in MS Access, to generate reports, design custom queries, link
disparate data sources, convert data from other formats, and output
reports.
You will be required to work with local MLA constituency offices to
ensure consistent use of the database on a system-wide basis.
The position will also include some data entry as well as supervision
of temporary data entry clerks and training for end users. Some travel
within Nova Scotia will be required.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years professional experience or equivalent academic/
training background Demonstrated ability to perform list management
tasks
Proficiency with MS Access. Some SQL knowledge would be a definite
plus
Efficient skills in data entry, with emphasis on accuracy and
attention to detail Knowledge of MS Office, strong analytical ability
Excellent communications skills and ability to communicate with non-
computer literate people
Valid NS Driver's License
Experience managing data for communications applications (e.g. direct
mail)
Knowledge of statistical analysis
Knowledge of the policies, practices and structures of the NDP is a
definite plus
Above all, you must have a proactive and analytical mindset that is
always looking at new ways to add value to the process.
