Associate Principal Scientist - Flavor Characterization
East Hanover, NJ
Description of Job Responsibilities
This candidate, functioning effectively as a member of an established
flavor research team, will be responsible for various aspects of key flavor
characterization and determine the chemistry associated with Kraft food
matrices. He/She will initiate and execute independent research on potent
flavor compounds. The individual will quickly develop pioneering methodology
in rapid, quantitative analysis of key flavor compounds. At times, he/she
will apply research results to solve flavor problem and accomplish major
goals in aroma/taste research projects.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD Food Science or Flavor Chemistry
Minimum of 8 years experience in Separation science, analytical chemistry.
Minimum of 5 years experience GC-MS, LC-MS analysis, flavor analysis
Additional General / Technical Skills
Knowledge of flavor systems, volatile and nonvolatile.
Seasoned researcher with ability to resolve problems.
Understanding of compound/matrix interactions.
Understanding of sensory evaluation and sniffing techniques
20% Travel
