Description:
ou will maintain, monitor, and fine-tune the functionality of the server
and network systems.

You must be willing to work non-standard hours if needed to accommodate
24x7 internet site outage schedules. The successful candidate must be able
to work under stress and communicate effectively.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:

- Communicate and escalate issues within All Headline News
- Install operating system upgrades and patches as necessary
- Deploy equipment at collocation site(s)
- Interact with vendors to receive support and replacement parts
- Configure server system and network parameters
- Monitor stability and performance
- Troubleshoot system anomalies
- Rapidly scale system to meet demand
- Help develop and write tools to maintain and monitor the cluster(s)
- Creating and deploying RPM's
- Consult concerning the performance of software systems.

Required skills:
- Strong LAMP skills (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PERL)
- Independent problem solving, self-direction
- 2+ years experience with Fedora Unix/Linux and MySQL
- Must be able to write and troubleshoot scripts in Perl
- Solid understanding of a UNIX based operating system, NFS, DNS, Reverse
Proxies and Load balancing for high traffic systems.
- Hardware Firewall Experience (SonicWall preferable)
- Comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration; for
example, configuration of mail systems, system installation and
configuration, fundaments of security, installing third party software
- Ability to function in fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
- Effective communication skills (written and oral), strong interpersonal
skills
