Lead Hardware Engineer - Chapel Hill, NC

I am a recruiter assisting a great, early-stage North Carolina company to
recruit a Lead Hardware Engineer. Here are the details:

Description:
Seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead development of optical
biopsy system for early cancer detection. This individual will be
responsible for turning a working prototype system into a commercial device.

Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering
Experience with Solidworks
5+ years experience in development of commercial devices
Ability to work both individually and in a team

Any of the following are a plus:
Advanced degree in mechanical engineering
Experience with medical devices & FDA clearance
Experience with transferring designs to manufacturing
Experience in startup environment

This position pays base compensation in the range of $60 - 90K annually.
