I agree entirely, and I am a legal recruitment consultant, as well as
owning a legal recruitment consultancy with 6 other consultants! I
think the profession is made up mainly of people who failed as
solicitors (I suspect I would fall into that category if you asked any
of my contemporaries at court), or those who are flitting from career
to career.
I find nothing more irritating that the constant referral to my first
name, Jonathan how are you, Jonathan are you looking for a job,
Jonathan what do you think about this point etc.. Arggh.
Most are in their early 20's, and their whole aim in life is to send
out cvs by the score and arrange interviews, regardless of how
irrelevant these are.
I suspect every law firm could name someone awful as a consultant, and
I would hope we do not fall into that category - feel free to insult
me at this point! My company is Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment (10%
stands for our donation to charity every year), and website is
www.ten-percent.co.uk.
