skills:

Software Engineer - Appliance Platforms

Responsibilities:
Evaluating and selecting appropriate appliance hardware platform(s) and
vendor(s)
Evaluating and selecting appropriate Linux OS platform
Specifying system management and failover strategies for appliance
Installing and tuning the OS platform for performance and security
Where necessary, making changes to the OS platform to make platform
more secure
Recommending changes to applications to make them more suitable for
appliance environment
Assisting product development groups in creating appliance version of
their products

Qualifications:
Proficiency with XML schema, shell scripting and SNMP
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Firewalls, HTTP, Proxy Firewall, SSL, NAT
and PKI
Hands-on experience in Linux and embedded systems
Experience with network protocol configuration and Linux system
programming
Experience in providing network and device management support for
security-related appliances
Proficiency with (though not expert in) C++ and Java

Pluses:
SOAP experience
In depth knowledge of SSL or IPsec VPN technology
Proficient in use of test tools (including Ixia tools, Avalanche,
LoadRunner, etc.)
Proficient in performance evaluation methodology
Some GUI development experience

Duration: Permanent

Rate: 70-85K
