skills:

Senior QA Engineer

Experience with carrier/ service providers (telecom companies either
providing services to subscribers or to companies who provide telecom
services to subscribers). Must have testing under Solaris.

* Provides comprehensive test plans covering both business and
derived product requirements for server carrier/service provider
products
* Designs and develops manual and automated test cases using
scripts and tools
* Works within the carrier QA team to test products through
functional and system test phases

Responsibilities:
* Produces test plans to include the addressed requirements,
scope of the functionality, test environment required, test data
required, methodologies employed, validation techniques, reporting
mechanism, and assumptions and known limitations
* Designs, creates, executes, and maintains manual and
automated test cases
* Works closely with software engineers, other QA engineers,
and external carrier customers to develop comprehensive test cases
providing maximum test coverage in the most efficient manner. Collects
and reports test planning and test execution metrics to the QA lead
* Reports schedule progress to the QA lead
* Stores all code, scripts, scenarios, specifications, and
plans under source control
* Utilizes a test management tool to manage test scripts and
collect automated test metrics as well as to report test execution
results
* Reports bugs and verifies bug fixes

Requirements:
* Extensive test planning, test case development & scripting &
test execution experience in a carrier environment
* Experience with automation tools
* Strong analytical skills
* Experience testing carrier/service provider server products
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
* Experience collecting and reporting test metrics
* Proficient understanding of MS Office applications
* Proficient understanding of Unix/Solaris operating system
* High degree of written and oral communication
* Team player and self motivator
* At least 8 years work experience
* Capable of understanding complex technical issues and
reviewing networking standards specifications
* ASQ QA certification a plus
* Networking and security protocols domain knowledge a clear
plus

Education:
* BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline
preferred
