Monroe

Michigan area. This is an excellent position with a well established

JOB DESCRIPTION





1.. Establish, implement, and evaluate information system programs and
policies that will provide for the effective delivery of data processing
(MIS) services.

equipment (AS/400, RISC6000, Servers and Cisco switches) utilized
throughout the hospital facilities and 4 remote sites. Created the
standards of policy and procedures utilized by all data center personnel.

Topsville, Inc., Miami, Fl.
Director of MIS, 1997 - 1999
Architected, built, and implemented a new technology platform for
Topsville, a major supplier of children’s clothing in the US, to support
the efforts of the ever growing technology needed in the competitive
garment industry. Key components included imaging, automated workflow,
redesigned user interfaces, customer and agent databases. Upgraded
communication between the Miami and New York office so that design drawing
and approvals could be completed within a minimal time needed for
production.

• Supervised the operations and administration of the AS/400, NT, Novell
and Wins 2000 network servers including security, Client Access and
manufacturing software.
• Installation of all programs, updates and fixes to manufacturing
software.
• Hired, trained, and supervised computer operation, PC technicians and
network administrators;
• Strategic planning;
• Budget development, accountability and achievement;
• Design of technology architecture;
• Vendor negotiations.

Significant Accomplishment
Successfully converted from a Digital VAX System to an AS/400 Advanced
RISC System.






















Farm Stores, Miami, Fl.
Data Center Manager, 1996 - 1997
Responsible for the development of the Point of Sale (POS) software which
enhanced the ordering and delivery of products. Ensured, through effective
project management, that all development projects were completed on time
and within budget. As a member of the senior management team, was
responsible for the strategic technical direction of the company.
Designed, wrote and implemented the policy and procedures for the uploads
and downloads of information between the sites and data center.

• In charge of communications of 215 mini supermarkets located in Florida
connected by a POS system located in Miami.
• Additional personnel under my supervision are Network Administrator, PC
Analyst and two AS/400 computer operators.
• Recommendations of upgrades to systems are highly recommended by me.
• Hired to do the conversion to the AS/400 RISC machines.

Significant Accomplishment
Conversion of an AS/400 models E45 and E10 to RISC processors 500 and
Advanced 400.



Edron Fixture Corp., Miami, Fl.
Director of Data Processing Department, 1995 - 1996
Engineered, planned and designed the implementation of a new technology
platform to support a new 270,000 square foot building. This included
telephone systems, paging systems and connection to main office for
transfer of design images. This resulted in a service center that
supported Edron's rapid growth through the 1990s and continues in use
today.

• Supervised Operations, Help Desk, PC Tech, Network Administrators and
Programmers (in-house and third party).
• Developed the guidelines to meet the expectations of the customers.
• Selected vendors evaluated contracts and approved purchase orders.
• J.D. Edwards support with third party programmer.
• Supervised all PBX operations.

Significant Accomplishments
The planning, designing, and installation of the phone system, computer
system and paging system at the 273,000-sq. ft. facility in Medley,
Florida called PhaseII. and the installation of the NT
Network primarily used for CAD Department and gateway to the AS/400.




Hialeah Hospital, Hialeah, Fl.
Operation’s Manager, 1988 - 1995
Increasing responsibilities; promoted five times in 7 years. Reengineered
annuity back-office processing to drastically reduce operational costs and
headcount while improving service. Reviewed and accumulated stats to
support this effort. Key components included automated payroll system,
new patient software (McKesson - Series), accounting software (Global
software) and customer support 24/7.
