Description GENERAL OVERVIEW Serves on a Casual basis as a Shipping Packer (Shipping Packer) supporting the TSSC-III Program through the NACO Warehouse, based out of Glendale, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience or a combination of experience and related training in order to perform the following duties:
TYPICAL ASSIGNMENTS
Preparing products for shipment by placing them in shipping containers according to the standard set by The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Required to make an independent decision as to what shipping container(s) should be used with consideration to the type, size, and number of units to be packed and the method of shipment. Packer must assure that customer satisfaction is achieved by the delivery of undamaged product. Knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify shipment content. Ensuring that appropriate enclosures are placed in package before closing and/or sealing container. Neatly affixes shipping labels, meter tapes, and shipment sticker to the container.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Packing and/or crating experience. Decision making skills (Ability to select appropriate type and size of container for shipments.) Must be able to lift, carry, and stack packages up to 70 pounds. Handle changing priorities and other duties as required.
Familiar with warehouse machines, equipment, and tools related to product control functions (i.e. part counting scales, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.)
Moderate overtime required. Basic computer knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Applications is preferred.
This position requires a security background check by the FAA and must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk).
