POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION PURPOSE - Warehouse associates are responsible for a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to: loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products, shipping returns, and kitting into and out of a Distribution Center, Branch location, or rental yard. Individuals in this position must have the ability to become certified and operate material handling equipment. Individuals must also work cooperatively with other associates and productively with little supervision. Following company safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position. MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - 3rd Shift Picking (2 openings ? 8:30 pm start time). 15% Add, subtract, and calculate quantities of merchandise. 20% Unload, sort, stage, and transport merchandise, and deliver it to the proper location. 10% Accurately write and distribute forms. 15% Identify and read vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and receiving documents. 20% Enter receiving and shipping information into the facilitys computer system. 10% Maintain a clean and functioning work area. 10% Interact with a variety of people, including delivery drivers, supervisors, managers, and associates. NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Department Head. No direct reports. Typically has little contact outside workgroup. Typically assignments are very specific. Typically refers to basic instructions when solving problems. Typically, guidance is always available and prior permission is required before changing work methods.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED. YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 1 CERTIFICATES/LICENSES - Certain material handling equipment certifications may be required. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Requires ability to use material handling equipment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. One year experience is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Initiative: Ability to think and take constructive action at work without being urged; skill and ability in taking the lead in forwarding new ideas or work methods. Safety Orientation: Demonstrates awareness of Home Depot safety policies and procedures; includes ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely. Adaptability/Flexibility: Ability to change or adapt work practices, priorities, or procedures, or to reschedule activities in response to changing conditions or multiple work demands. Teamwork: Ability to work well with others in a group, cooperate with others, offer to help when needed, and foster a team climate within the group where members are committed to a common goal. Problem Solving: Using a systematic and effective approach in analyzing information in order to come up with good business solutions to problems. Knowing the Business: Maintain a high level of knowledge of Distribution Center operations, store products, etc. Foundation Skills: Ability to understand written material and ability to write using correct spelling and punctuation; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions or decimals. Respect for all People: Respects people of all backgrounds and treats everyone fairly by maintaining a consistent set of standards.
