Description: Director of Admissions Tracking Code FY09-50 Job Description The Director of Admissions, as a member of the Enrollment Management Team, directs the work of the admissions office which includes: recruitment, returning adults, international students, dual/concurrent enrollment students, and the Call Center. The director provides leadership in the development of innovative recruitment strategies designed to attract new markets and expand a college wide recruitment plan. The director is responsible for providing leadership for recruitment events in the community and in the local high schools. The director also works directly with students to ensure admissions and residency policies are enforced. The director serves as the advisor to international students, responding to inquiries of the U. S. Immigration Service and monitoring students academic progress. The work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Flexibility is required as the director may have recruitment events in the evenings and on Saturdays. College of Southern Maryland conducts background checks in order to insure the safety and well-being of the colleges staff and students. The final candidate for this position will be subject to the following background checks: Criminal History Check and Motor Vehicle Record Check. This position is open until filled. Required Skills * Masters degree in a related field * Five years experience in student service area with progressively greater responsibility * Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, peers and community organizations * Effective managerial, supervisory and human relations skills. * Excellent oral and writing skills * Ability to develop and manage budgets * Ability to work with professional integrity and discretion. * Capacity and willingness to accept duties with initiative and resourcefulness * Must maintain insurability for vehicle use under the colleges liability insurance coverage.
