Harris Corporation is serving as the systems integrator and provides overall program management for the U.S. Census Bureaus 5-year $600 million dollar Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) program. This critical program for the 2010 Census includes the design, development, testing and deployment of advanced, automated systems that will deliver near real-time data using an architecture with multiple and overlapping security features, including fingerprint authentication, password authentication, role-based access, automatic data encryption, firewalls, and virus protection.

Job Description: * System Integration/Test Engineers are responsible for system level ‘end-to-end’ integration and test effort of internally developed and COTS-based electromechanical systems, from the system design phase through proposal, development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the large complex system. They are responsible for ensuring their electrical and physical compatibility while also meeting program technical, schedule and cost objectives. * Specific responsibilities include: proposing, architecting, detail developing, documenting and executing system integration and test plans. In addition, SI&T is responsible for developing and managing effective cost and staffing plans. SI&T shall also develop design specifications, analyses, trade studies, transition plans, installation plans, interface control documents, compatibility of physical and functional interfaces and first article product integration plans as required. * Analyzes requirements for system integration and/or testability issues. Develops and implements system level hardware and software test programs, test plans, test specifications, test procedures, customer acceptance testing, plans and leads integration / test working groups, test readiness reviews and formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports. Investigates and implements solutions to product, process or test problems. * Participates intimately with customers in working groups and conducts formal presentations/design reviews with both internal and external customers.

Qualifications: * BSEE, BSCE, BSIT or equivalent experience with 9 or more years experience required. * Background in complex electrical, mechanical or software test and integration.

Experience: * Experience with software and hardware intensive development efforts is required. * Experience to include system integration and system test engineering, system test definition, leadership experience, good technical writing, presentation and internal or external customer interfacing skills. * Demonstrated application of integration and test engineering domain knowledge to develop and integrate a test solution, using the latest technologies and process techniques, to satisfy a collection of system requirements within time and cost constraints. * Must be familiar with standard Systems Engineering processes and should have a working knowledge of software engineering, CM and test engineering processes. * Must be proactive and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams * Experience in use of LoadRunner and/or other stress/load testing solutions, particularly in a data processing environment, will be a plus.
