POSITION SUMMARY: The e-Learning Manager identifies need, develops instructional designs and program flowcharts, constructs e-Learning Programs and/or manages vendors to deliver effective programs for a wide range of Associates (field operations, store based and headquarters). Their work provides a core resource for the development of store based product knowledge training. Their focus is on enhancing productivity, the Customer experience in our stores, the quality of work, and building Associate loyalty to The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. Most importantly, they work daily to increase Associate and organizational performance through the development, application and use of e-Learning tools. Program development, beta-testing, implementation and evaluation of impact are essential parts of the e-Learning Managers job. They will partner with the Sr. Director, Training & Development to influence functional leaders decisions on e-Learning investment, content, rollout schedule and reinforcement. They will build close / effective working relationships within the Companys IT community and be the Training Team resource to IT projects which require Associate Training. They will evaluate e-Learning effectiveness to ensure that it directly supports the Companys strategic business goals and financial results. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Training & Development, this position requires a high focus on details, a keen sense of urgency, and an understanding of the practical application of e-Learning best practices in the A&P environment. Requirements KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: . Promote the implementation and use of e-Learning and the implementation of industry best practices throughout the organization. . Educate and support all staff in the changes needed to utilize new technologies and learning materials. . Determine and construct measurable e-Learning, training objectives. . Deliver a range of Operations focused training utilizing a suite of techniques and formats including self-paced CBT, web-based learning, and digital performance support tools, in a blended, action learning format. . Regularly measure the effectiveness of e-Learning initiatives (beyond Level I Evaluation) and adjust / modify to maximize results. . Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with IT and Operations constituencies, to deliver ROI from e-Learning initiatives . Leverage technology and creativity to make e-Learning "real", relevant, engaging and actionable. . Demonstrate strong MS Office, PhotoShop, web-design, authoring system and interactive media capability. . Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills . Develop (or oversee the development of) e-Learning implementations, and computer based visual aids, instructional materials, software tutorials, and reference materials appropriate to specified training objectives. . Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) . Effectively manage vendors / consultants / suppliers. . Successfully manage project budgets. . Ensure that all training programs are in compliance with federal, state, local standards and company policy guidelines SPECIAL SKILLS, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE: . Bachelors degree required (prefer a Learning focused degree program) . Experience in course development, online training, instructor-led training and/or adult learning theory. . Highly proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PhotoShop (or other image development software), interactive authoring software. Knowledge of and experience in e-learning tools and learning technology. . Solid understanding of web technologies (application, reporting, database, web design and email) and connectivity requirements. . Creative, innovative and flexible in using instructional design methodology as it applies to delivering e-Learning. . Excellent verbal and written communication skills .
