Description: Procurement Analyst (Fossil) Location Corporate Headquarters - Newark NJ (0014) Job Function Service / Operations No. of Positions 2 Job Description Meet the materials and services needs of department clients by optimizing procurement efficiency and effectiveness through accurate planning, innovative sourcing and cost reduction. Initiate and coordinate procurement activities for all materials and services (including preparation of bid packages, conducting pre-bid meetings, evaluating bids, developing/negotiating applicable terms and conditions, and issuing appropriate contracts or purchase orders.) Work closely with client organizations to plan and forecast materials/services needs. Analyze usage needs and patterns to determine optimal procurement alternatives, sources and purchase of materials and/or services to meet needs in a timely and effective manner. Analyze procurement patterns to continuously identify and take advantage of cost savings through innovative sourcing and procurement techniques. Provide management reports to identify improvement opportunities and offer management recommendations for procurement process improvements. Position may require field assignments to support station maintenance, modification outages and/or new plant construction. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet managements expectations for effective internal business controls. Required: Must be innovative in sourcing and procuring materials and services and proficient in personal computer applications and have general knowledge of uniform commercial code and contract law. Essential: College degree or equivalent experience. Minimum three - five years experience in either materials management or procurement. Desirable: Graduate Degree and/or Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation. Experience in cross-functional commodity management teams and SAP.
