Description: Job Description:
Execute test procedures for testing of client-server network-based database backup and recovery software.

Create and populate databases with data. Manipulate data within a database using a query language.

Test backup and recovery of databases.

Develop and maintain test automation tools and automated test environment. Analyze test results.

Create detailed Modification Requests (reports of “bugs” found) and work with software developers to track down and solve the problems found.

Perform basic UNIX System Administration tasks on a variety of UNIX architectures.

Required Skills:
Strong UNIX background required.

Solid knowledge of at least one of the following databases is highly desirable: Oracle, Oracle RAC, Oracle DataGuard, Informix, or Sybase.

Must be able to work with other testers and developers in solving problems.

Ability to work well either independently or as part of a team.

Experience Required:
Experience with SQL, KSH Shell Scripts, Perl Unix system administration skills (clusters, SAN, Linux, AIX, HP-UX)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Prior experience in testing required.

Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline highly preferred.
