Description: Supports the PMO Director and IT CFO in monitoring project financials and updates business case financials as appropriate
Responsibilities
¡ Works with project managers to define level of effort
¡ Supports the IT CFO in:
– Defining appropriate tracking mechanisms to support capturing actual project spend and ROI
– Preparing and monitoring project budgets
– Tracking project financial performance to budgets
– Preparing MTD, YTD, and PTD variance reports and estimates to complete
– Preparing cap/expense analysis and accruals as appropriate
¡ Monitors consultant/external contractor vs. internal resource mix
¡ Maintains Program Financial Tracking Model (Excel workbook)
¡ Calculates variance (monthly and cumulative) between Program budget and actual Program costs
¡ Compiles monthly Program Cost Summary Report based on Financial Tracking Updates posted to project repository
¡ Helps establish and document Program budget
¡ Assists in development of quarterly Program Business Case updates
¡ Works collaboratively with Finance Department to track and process Program invoices
¡ Notifies Program Management Office (PMO) Director of significant discrepancies between Program budget and actuals (greater than 10% variance)
¡ Follows up with Project Managers (PMs) and Team Leads to ensure compliance with monthly financial tracking deadlines
¡ Provides support (as needed) to PMs and Team Leads in creating their respective Financial Tracking Updates
Minimum Requirements
¡ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, audit, finance, accounting, business administration or related field required (Master’s degree preferred)
¡ 5 + years related work experience (Finance experience/CPA/CMA preferred)

¡ Extensive knowledge of Program budget tracking processes
¡ Ability to develop interpretations of findings and to recommend suggested actions based on the findings
¡ Ability to generate original and imaginative solutions to Program management challenges
¡ Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and database management skills
¡ Exceptional written and oral communication skills
¡ Proven ability to meet deadlines
¡ Prior experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks while producing timely, high quality deliverables
¡ Independent, self-starter attitude with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner with little supervision or direction
¡ Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to change
¡ Collaborative working style and ability to develop/sustain productive work relationships with key stakeholders across all areas and levels of the organization as well as external consultants
¡ Prior experience within a Program Management Office for a large initiative (preferred)
