Summary; Responsible for leading all aspects of the safety and security function including compliance initiatives, training development, risk assessment, emergency planning and reporting. This individual will also be the owner of technical training initiatives, including new hire training, upskill training, refresher training and maintenance of training records Key performance factors will include the development and maintenance of training programs and a safety culture that promotes a workplace free of injuries or security concerns while exemplifying high standards of operational performance.
1. Develops, utilizes and monitors site safety and security resources to assure success.
2. Develops and maintains training programs and a safety culture that promotes a workplace free of injuries.
3. Develops and delivers mandated safety training including. emergency response, confined space, electrical, PSM, respiratory protection, etc.
4. Performs hazard analysis within plant location.
5. Keeps supervisory/management personnel apprised to eliminate hazardous condition and unsafe practices.
6. Develops and implements incident investigation and accident and injury analysis process.
7. Works closely with company Worker’s Compensation carrier.
8. Coordinate health activities ensuring regulator compliance.
9. Development and implementation of emergency response plan.
10. Conducts security audits and investigations, providing reports and recommendations to plant management.
