Senior Database Engineer

Database Engineering (SQL 2000/2005)
4 Year degree or equivalent experience
At least 3 years or equivalent education

Job Description:
While the day-to-day focus will be on database engineering, the
employee is expected to use knowledge of and occasionally participate
in related disciplines including software engineering, project
management, product management, quality assurance, and configuration
management to work more effectively with those areas. Excellent
technical and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities include:
Review, understand, and provide feedback on functional requirements.
Propose a technical design from functional requirements
Estimate work hours required to implement a technical design
Develop, test, and debug new functionality, and maintain/enhance
existing functionality in T-SQL
Comply with existing processes, including requirements for source
control and documentation
Tracking hours by project no less frequently than weekly
Using Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, and SQL 2005 Management studio to
produce documentation
Using Outlook for communication and coordination with others
Individual must be:
Skilled with SQL 2000/2005 - logical and physical design as well as
stored procedure and function development
Able to create technical designs from functional requirements and
estimate the work they require
A "quick study," willing to take on challenges and provide high levels
of customer services
Able to multi-task on several projects simultaneously

An entrepreneurial attitude that is always looking for improvements
Microsoft certification is a plus, but not required
Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
