Network/Systems Field Consultant

This is a network and systems field consultant position at a Chicago
based consulting company. The ideal candidate should have solid
networking and Windows skills. These include working knowledge of
Windows Servers (including Active Directory, Exchange, Small Business
server) and Desktops, and the OSI model, specifically layer2 and
layer3 protocols. Preferably candidate should have experience with
Cisco IOS, Unix, Windows, and MacOS experience is a plus. The
candidate should also be VERY outgoing, friendly and eager to learn
and advance their career. A strong ability to communicate and interact
positively with customers is also vital.
Duties:
- Maintain customer existing networks: Cisco Switch/Router, Firewalls,
Servers (Win2000/2003) (Exchange, Active Directory) , Unix/Linux,
MacOS.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues.
- Perform regular network maintainance: Upgrade routers/switches.
- Design/Install/configure new networks
- Interact with our customers (may include training, project managing)
- Car required for transportation

Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate should have a good working knowledge of networks and the
following protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, RIP, BGP)
- Candidate should have experience troubleshooting all types of
networks
- Candidates must have exceptional communications skills, and a proven
history of providing customer service and support that exceeds
expectations

Bonus Qualifications:
- Linux experience: includes email, postfix, imap, ftp, samba, apache.
- MacOS X: Desktop troubleshooting, application troubleshooting.

Salary Range:
35-43K + full benefits + bonus opportunities. Travel stipend included.
