Sr. Process Engineer -- high-volume printing, continuous improvement, industrial engineering -- all 3 are essential
Skills:
15-25 years experience in the printing, converting, or packaging manufacturing industries with 10 or more years in Process Engineering/Continuous Improvement.
Knowledge of printing is ESSENTIAL (sheet-fed, web--both conventional and digital), die cutting, laminating, folding, cutting, collating, binding, packaging, material handling etc.
Training and experience with continuous improvement techniques including Lean Manufacturing, SMED/Quick Changeover, Benchmarking and other similar improvement techniques.
Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related degree.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
Knowledge of cost justification methods.
Knowledge of time study methods.
QC/QA focus.
Ability to work with a team of individuals to achieve Continuous Improvement.
Hands-on Industrial Engineering process applications experience to include actual real-life consolidation/expansion/acquisition scenarios.
Duties:
Work with management to identify process improvement targets that will improve throughput, reduce costs and exceed customer expectations.
Analyze processes to externalize, simplify and eliminate all steps of setups possible, identify those steps that cannot be changed and steps needing further study.
Work with a group of individuals to improve those target processes that will result in the greatest return on time and resource investment.
Prioritize those improvement processes identified.
Analyze potential projects for cost and return on investment.
Document processes both existing and improvements.
Develop cost justifications for new equipment.
Develop process layout floor plans/plant layout.
Provide manning analysis.
Develop time studies of processes and setups under the direction of management.
Perform other duties as defined by management.
