Oracle Database Administrator

Description: In this position, the individual selected will install
and configure software, apply patches, create and adhere to disaster
recovery processes, perform backup and recovery procedures, capacity
planning and perform maintenance tasks. This role also includes
maintaining database availability, which involves monitoring, alerting
and proactively maintaining databases to avoid loss of database access
and availability. Performance tuning duties include analysis,
performance optimization and memory management. This individual will
also have the opportunity to research new system technologies and
propose implementation concepts.

Duties: Manage Real Application Clusters in 24x7 environment Manage
large databases in Unix/Linux Environment Install, maintain and
troubleshoot Oracle Streams Configure high availability environments
using Data Guard Manage 11i e-Business Suite database Upgrade and
patch databases Performance tune databases Perform backup and recovery
using RMAN Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code Automate processes
using Unix/Linux shell scripting Design and create databases Install
and configure Oracle Application Server 10gAS Manage Discoverer End
User Layer Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of
5 years experience managing Oracle databases in Unix/Linux
environment. Candidate must have BA in Computer Science or equivalent
work experience. They will demonstrate experience with planning,
designing, configuring, installing and troubleshooting Oracle 9i/10g.
They will also have experience in managing Oracle databases in a High
Availability environment including implementing and managing Real
Application Clusters, Streams, and Data Guard. Additionally experience
with 11i e-Business Suite, Oracle Application Server 10g, and
Discoverer administration is desirable. Must have good written and
communication skills and be team oriented. 9i/10g administration Real
Application Clusters Streams Data Guard UNIX/Linux SQL/PLSQL Shell
scripting Grid Control 11i e-Business Suite administration 10gAS
Administration Experience in high availability/24x7 environments
Independent position requires excellent organizational skills Must be
willing to learn new technologies Problem solving and analysis skills
