US-PA-Philadelphia: Membership Services Assistant

Summary

The Membership Services Assistant reports to the Membership Service
Manager and manages all aspects of health insurance-related sales and
services and supports the Membership Service Manager in the delivery of
other member benefits. The Membership Services Assistant is the primary
member contact for all insurance-related inquiries and seeks to
increase members' participation in the Cultural Alliance's health and
dental insurance programs, thus increasing the value of membership and
likelihood of renewal. By maximizing participation in the health
insurance program, the Membership Assistant also helps to develop new
earned income for the Alliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Administer the Cultural Alliance's Independence Blue Cross (IBC)
health insurance program and United Concordia (UCCI) dental insurance
program, providing customer support and serving as the Alliance's
primary contact with representatives from IBC and United Concordia.
* Recruit new insurance subscribers by identifying members not
currently utilizing our health and/or dental insurance coverage and
presenting the benefits of switching to the Cultural Alliance's
program; present rate quotes as requested.
* Maintain benefits- related member contacts and notes in the Cultural
Alliance database.
* Conduct annual IBC and UCCI open enrollment.
* Support and inform members about value-added Alliance benefits
including: health and dental insurance, discounted directors and
officers insurance, Office Basics office supply program,
PhillyFunSavers, Globalfit discounted fitness club membership, etc.
* Assist Membership Service Manager with new member recruitment, annual
membership renewal, development and communication of new member
benefits, maintenance of member records and files, and other duties as
assigned.
* Attain and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Accident and Health
Insurance License.


Qualifications:

* Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet applications
* Interest in nonprofit organizations and/or arts & culture
