Overview: Responsible for timely repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles. Operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Position Information: . Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer . Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required . Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles . Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance . Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle . Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures . Perform other duties as required

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS . Must have one years experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school . Must be able to operate a manual transmission truck to determine if operating properly . Must be able to enter and exit the drivers compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds . Must posses a valid drivers license . Must be able to remove and replace a tractor brake drum weighing approximately 110 pounds several times a month . Ability to follow instructions and complete required training . Basic computer skills . Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) . Must be able to work with or around chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
WORKING CONDITIONS . Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job . Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise . Exposure to extreme heat/cold is minimal while working in and out of a controlled temperature setting in a vehicle or building . Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area while working away from the normal work area along highways, streets and overpasses . Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
