Oversee security operations in warehouse including all contract
security and in-house security personnel.
Essential Functions:
*Direct and oversee all contract and security officers assigned to the
Vernon Hills distribution center. Monitor and maintain proper
warehouse security on dock in shipping and receiving areas. Ensure
contract security personnel in warehouse are performing their
functions properly. Ensure that all products leaving warehouse is
accompanied by proper paper work or invoice.
*Direct and oversee Security Supervisors assigned to each of three
shifts including first, second, and third. Work with and develop these
individuals in order to improve customer service.
*Reconcile all contract related invoices on a timely basis to ensure
that vendors are paid on time. Also approve and coordinate all other
invoices related to this area.
*Maintain and keep current, contract security certification, through
testing program. Ensure that all officers are trained and certified
within (30) working days of hire.
*Maintain and keep current, in house security certification, through
the PSTN training program, Basic Security Officer Training modules 1
through 12 within 30 days.
*Prepare monthly contract security rating system and meet with
contract security company to issue grade. Use this to improve overall
service.
*Identify and implement additional training programs for contract and
in house security personnel.
*Identify and develop improved methods of providing security services
to customers on the dock, in the warehouse, at the entry and exit
doors, and all other areas assigned to.
*Continuously look into methods to reduce expenses without hindering
productivity and service.
Maintains knowledge and remains current with advancements in industry
standards and technology.
*Identifies and develops plans to provide reduction or elimination of
risks to assigned business activities.
*Assist Director of Security on various security, loss prevention, and
safety issues from time to time, including investigations.
Additional Responsibilities:
*Responds to emergency situations such as a Civil Disturbance, Bomb
Threat, explosion, flood, workplace violence, and other similar types
of business interruptions covered in the companies Business Continuity
Program (BCP).
*Maintain all training documentation for assigned security team.
*Maintain all testing and training documentation for outside audits
and reviews such as ISO 9000 and Deloitte.
*Develop relationships across CDW, as needed to ensure positive
results.
Minimum Basic Qualifications
*Five (5) years as Security Supervisor or in an equivalent position.
*Good oral communication skills.
*Leadership qualities needed to direct others.
*The ability to make good sound decisions regarding issues or
controversies is required.
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
*Organizational and time management skills.
Other Required Qualifications
*Ability to positively and professionally interact across all
departments within CDW to include all levels of management and
coworkers, along with consultants, vendors, and customers.
*Must have worked for or supervised a contract security company
*Must be able to work independently, be flexible and adaptable to
change.
*Must be able to make appropriate decisions when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
*CPP - Certified Protection Professional certification
*Four (4) year degree preferred
