This position is the System Architecture Lead for a Command and Control System that integrates air, land, and sea subsystems via a wide area network (WAN) and Link-16 backbone. The program is structured into several developmental blocks with overlapping development lifecycles. The System Architecture Lead is responsible for the overall architecture to include the architectural evolution across the developmental blocks that will result in a seamless and robust end state architecture. The System Architecture Lead is responsible for definition/tailoring of architectural artifacts required for each developmental block (based on company developmental processes), ensuring that the architectural artifacts are produced in a timely and quality manner, and for ensuring that a common architecture across the developmental blocks results. The architecture scope includes definition subsystems, inter- and intra- system communication framework, elements that result in system robustness (such as system states and failure modes), human-machine interaction components, and recognition/remediation of limitations or risk as the architecture evolves.
This position requires at least 10 years experience with system architecture development, 5 years as a lead architect, 5 years hands on experience with architecture definition tools, 10 years experience in command and control or intelligence systems, 5 years experience with Link-16 and/or WAN design, demonstrated customer rapport, negotiation, and interface, as well as excellent oral and written communication. It is desirable that the candidates have experience with Navy programs and foreign customers. Applicants must meet the requirements to obtain a security clearance
