long-established Colorado-based software vendor.
Position: Software Developer - SQL Server & Backup DBA
Location: Broomfield area, CO (Commutable from Denver/Boulder)
Job Description:
· Responsible for developing high quality code on schedule used in the
design, function and maintenance of data interfaces.
· The SQL Server Developer develops and edits stored procedures,
functions and extended stored procedures in TSQL to for the core
business logic in a SQL Server 2005 environment.
· Integrating error handling and error logging to support data
maintenance and code error remediation. Extensive use of Try/Catch
error handling to ensure that errors are managed and recorded to
simplify identifying and fixing code or data issues.
· Use of transaction processing to ensure that production data is
maintained as correct data and that updates/inserts are only committed
when a process has completed successfully.
· Work with Customer Implementation and Development teams to support
error remediation.
· Work with DBAs and Account Managers to migrate existing data into
new system configurations.
· Strong ability to test and ensure the quality of processes and code.
· Perform database administration duties occasionally as back-up to
DBA staff
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, OR
equivalent work experience.
· 5+ years related experience with TSQL and SQL Server.
· In depth knowledge of SQL Server and SQL Server development
methodologies and processes
· 4+ years writing TSQL stored procedures and extended stored
procedures.
· Substantial foundation in performing database administration
functions on SQL Server
· Experience with SSIS and DTS
· DBA experience with SQL Server (production support, tuning, etc.)
· Experience working within version control and change
Desired Experience:
· SSIS and Reporting Services, C#, .Net
· Experience developing software in an Agile work environment
· Experience with payroll or benefit systems a plus.
