This position can be located in one of Honeywell’s Aerospace
Facilities across the United States, including; Redmond, WA, Urbana,
OH, Sarasota, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Tucson, AZ, Torrance, CA, Olathe, KS,
Minneapolis, MN or Toronto, Canada.

Description:
This Software Staff Engineer will be responsible for development of
architecture methods that provide better designs, decreased technical
risk and rework, increased early stakeholder awareness and buy-in, and
support product line development initiatives as appropriate. This
person will work with Electronic Center of Excellence (CoE) to address
key domain software architecture quality attributes, their
relationships and tradeoffs. The incumbent will be working on the
development of architectural evaluation roadmaps, including SEI and
ATAM. This position must be able to develop the standard architectural
documentation methods, including SEI approach and IEEE Standard
1471-2000. This individual will actively participate in Electronic CoE
Embedded Software Initiatives. The communication of architectural
methods to engineering training and mentoring will be another
responsibility of this position, where applicable. In addition, the
Software Staff Engineer will be working throughout the various
Electronic CoE Organizations, work with engineering operations and
engineering IT for coordination of methods and related tools. This
position also requires this person to work with and participate on
industry teams and councils.

Qualifications:
• BSEE or BSCE is required with a background in Aerospace, H/W and
S/W.
• At least ten years of experience in Aerospace with experience of
technical knowledge associated with software architecture development.

• Technical understanding of commercial, Military and general
industry development standards and requirements.
• Knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods and
information relating to software architecture
• Technical foresight to assist and contribute to broad strategic
initiatives across Honeywell Aerospace in the area of software
architecture.
• Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work with limited direction in a loosely defined
environment while giving informal leadership.
• Knowledgeable in CMM and SCI
• DO-178 certification is a plus.
