Software Test Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Software Verification and Validation team, you will
have the opportunity to work with exciting projects, helping to ensure
that the product we release is of the highest possible quality. The
successful candidate will be actively involved in setup of test
environments, test case execution, reporting of results, some test
case development and planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Working with sub-teams within the group to generate creative
solutions to complex testing problems and the ability to participate
in ongoing process improvement. * Developing and executing various
types of tests such as regression, smoke, and functional system-level
tests on various server based products that our group is responsible
for testing * Apply quality assurance techniques against client/server
Web and wireless applications * Troubleshoot and investigate defects
in software * Enter, track, and maintain defect-tracking reports *
Collaborate with other testers, developers, and management in a team
environment * Utilize in house software testing utilities to exercise
functionality, with the ability to analyze and understand test results
* Write test tools, which automate the testing process, including
functional, load, stress, and scalability testing, and analyze data
recorded from the automation process * Perform some level of
configuration management responsibility

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum 3-years commercial software testing or development
experience testing multi-tiered distributed applications * Strong
background with UNIX/Linux * Minimum 3-years experience writing test
tools, test automation harnesses, and automation scripting * Excellent
written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to
communicate status and objectives with other teams and Senior
Management * Previous experience using SQL * Previous experience using
XML * Ability to analyze code modules for defects and performance
problems * BS CS/EE Degree is preferred * Previous experience with WAP
or WAP devices a plus * Previous experience with Regular Expressions
desired * Comfortable use of CVS, SourceSafe, PVCS, or equivalent
software
