Sr Scientist in biotech

Skills and Experience:

PhD in Cell Biology or equivalent with at least four-years
postdoctoral experience preferably from industry.

Broad experience in cell and molecular biology techniques. Expertise
in tissue culture using cell lines and primary cells. Extensive
knowledge of gene transfer technologies, using physical and and
chemical methods. Knowledge and experience with tracking intracellular
transport of tranfected molecules with cell-based assays and with
common techniques used in studying gene expression. Experience with
stem cell cultures is desirable. Experience with flow-cytometry is
also desirable. Familiarity with industry product development is a
plus.

Requires the ability to both work independently and be a team player.
Good written communications skills, and effective oral presentation
skills. Experience in optimizing and evaluating transfection
technologies. Innovative and resourceful in solving problems. Good
organization and data analysis skills. Duties and Responsibilities:

This position involves the research and development of new products
for the life science gene transfer field. The successful candidate
will work actively in the laboratory, utilizing skills in cell
transfection, tissue culture and measurement of transfection
efficiency and cell viability, to develop new gene transfer reagents
and instruments. The ideal candidate will be expected to:

-Independently plan, design, execute, analyze and troubleshoot
experiments and report the project activities. -Contribute to the
preparation of product development procedures, technical procedures,
protocols and instruction manuals. - Participate in scientific
discussions with internal and external customers. -Participatein
assessing feasibility and viabilty of new platforms. -Test protoypes
and pilot products under development -Define test procedures.
