Senior QA Engineer (2 positions)
TORONTO, CANADA
Position:
Highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to help with product QA in a fast growing
company. The candidate must have dedication to quality to meet or exceed
customer expectations, perseverance to complete assignments in the face of
challenges or setbacks, motivation to learn and should thrive in start-up
environments and be able to work with minimal supervision. Candidate must be
able to define and execute the system and design test cases and tools to
test the internal functions of the system.
Responsibilities:
· Generate test data, develop and execute test plans for white
and black box functional testing.
· Work with Product Management and Professional Services to
isolate, record, and track issues occurring in production.
· Work closely with software developers to define test
requirements and describe and isolate software defects.
· Analyze test runs and provide feedback in the product design
and specification process.
Qualifications:
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Requirements:
· 5+ years in SQA, white box is a plus
· Strong Oracle/DB2 backend skills is a must , ability to set-up
development databases, proven experience with SQL and data retrieval
· Comprehensive understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies,
procedures, and qa documentation.
· Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
· Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
· Familiar with all aspects of QA including functional,
compatibility, load balancing and performance testing.
· Experience in startup environments
· Experience in implementing complex functional tests that
require an understanding of the application logic
· Experience with the shipped products going through multiple
release cycles, including pre-release, alpha, beta, and maintenance mode
testing.
Desired Skills/Experience:
· Experience with enterprise CRM software, particularly in a
web-based environment.
· Experience with multi-tier web applications and J2EE, hands-on
experience with JBoss, WebLogic, or WebSphere.
· Strong knowledge of Oracle/DB2 administration tools, PL/SQL
· Must be flexible and able to adapt strategy to changing
business requirements
