POSITION: Business Applications Specialist
Office of Administrative Systems and Instructional
Support (OASIS)
REPORTS TO: MIS Coordinator - Applications Team Leader
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
" Minimum of B.S. degree in accounting or finance with two years
of work experience in information technology
OR
" Minimum of B.S. degree in Management Information Systems or
Computer Science with two years of accounting, finance or auditing
experience
" Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting cycles and
processes required
" Demonstrated ability to create and maintain databases required
" Demonstrated experience with relational database table
structures required
" Experience with financial, retail, manufacturing, and/or
payroll software required
" Working knowledge of SQL or Visual Basic required
" Software troubleshooting experience required
" Database administration experience preferred
" Demonstrated experience with backup and recovery systems
" Demonstrated working knowledge of computer software
" Database administrator experience preferred
" Demonstrated ability to work as a team member
" Ability to deal pleasantly and courteously with suppliers,
customers, and co-workers by telephone, written correspondence and in
person
" Ability to communicate well orally, in writing and with
sensory impaired individuals.
" A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the
AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty (30)
months of employment
" The successful applicant must submit to a criminal history
background information check including, but not limited to FBI and ABI
record repositories. Upon offer of employment, the applicant must
present a non-refundable fee of $49.00 and appear for scheduled finger
printing appointment.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routine tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
" Support for financial software applications
" Write, maintain and support custom databases
" Remain up-to-date on business applications
" Run end of month reports
" Download and distribute vendor documentation
" Perform end of year and data archiving processes
" Search technical databases for maintenance or enhancement of
database and/or applications
" Perform after-hours SQL server database administration and
maintenance
" Perform SQL Server backup and restore processes
" Maintain and apply patches to financial software applications
" Install, deploy and upgrade financial applications on SQL
Server database
" Research and define database and system requirements
" Manage SQL Server backup and recovery (on-site and off-site)
" Manage database capacity requirements
" Install vendor updates on servers
" Control security privileges on applications/servers
" Report modification or writing
" Train users on applications
" Attend conferences, in-service training, meetings, and other
functions as required
" Other duties as assigned
SALARY: $36,379 - $54,721 Scale PI Rank 53
Direct deposit is required.
Salary listed is based on 260 days according to the AIDB calendar.
This is an exempt position, and is not subject to overtime or
compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
