Technical Services Manager

This manager will be involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of software applications. Determine user requirements, lead application design, plan projects, establish priorities and monitor progress.
Evaluate project status and resources utilization and implement changes to improve team's effectiveness. May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with other applications.

Disciplines include:

Mainframe Platform (85% of work), Mid -Range Platform , Windows Desktop platform, Windows Server Platform, UNIX Client/Server platform, Internet / Intranet (web) platform, E-Commerce/EDI, Multi-platform.

This person should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least eight, typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of six years in application program development.

Other disciplines:

Database Design and Analysis, Data Warehousing / Data Mining

Manage the team accountable for the viability of the technical infrastructure across the organization

Ensure infrastructure currency and maintenance

Conduct system amp, database capacity planning, modeling, benchmarking, tuning amp and problem diagnosis

Resolve run time issues working with production support lead amp, other enterprise service teams to define and execute against OLAs

Manage technical source code inventory across all platforms to ensure viability of all environments

Manage/oversee documentation of supporting infrastructure across all applications and all environments

Manage a staff (2 people currently) including DBA's, Performance Managers, and technical support to ensure all technical service activities are addressed in accordance with project schedules and objectives
