Job Description
This job encompasses the responsibility for development and validation of
avionic/communication system/subsystem requirements, architecture definition
and integration. The job involves definition and implementation of
requirements for new/enhanced capabilities being added to support military
missions. The candidate will be required to develop an architecture based on
the requirements, operational concepts, system-level attributes and optimize
system effectiveness in terms of performance, cost, risk mitigation,
producibility, operational and logistical suitability and growth capability.
The candidate will be responsible for the definition of functional, physical
and procedural interfaces. The candidate will also be responsible for
conducting trade studies during architecture development and system
integration. The candidate must be able to investigate and solve a wide
range of system level technical issues. The candidate will be responsible
for the system/subsystem from concept development through product delivery
and operational support.
Competencies
Required competencies: The candidate must have experience in system
requirements development, requirements analysis, system integration,
interface definition, implementation and verification. Ability to manage
technical performance and risk associated with design required. Must have
ability to obtain secret security clearance. The candidate must be able to
work independently with minimal oversight to investigate/determine design
solutions while maintaining continuous working relationship between
multifunctional groups including Engineering, Program Office, Subcontracts,
Customers and Subcontractors. Candidate must have good leadership,
interpersonal/team building, technical problem solving, judgmental and
analytical skills. Strong oral and written communication skills are
essential. Good personal computer skills a must. The applicant must also be
self-motivated to work complex avionics designs from inception to final
design including testing and fielding. Desired competencies: Previous
experience in engineering subcontract management highly desired. Domain
experience in military aircraft communications (HF/VHF/UHF/SATCOM/Secure
Comm) is strongly desired. Specific knowledge and experience in multi source
integration and interoperability is desired. Demonstrated capability to use
system engineering tools in requirements management, functional analysis,
system architecture and verification preferred. Preference given to
qualified candidates with current security clearances of secret or higher.
