Position: VB Developer(Lan Admin) (Security Clearance)
Location: Ottawa
Contract: 12 Months
Rate: Open

(Security Clearance) is a MUST

This developer will be
responsible for:

- the support and administration of Windows XP computers in a Windows
2000 Server-based local area network; and
- the support and administration of financial market information
systems, such as Reuters and Bloomberg, and the Windows network
infrastructure underlying them; and
- the ordering and implementation of new or upgraded hardware and
software; and
- the review of disaster recovery strategy and technology and
participate in disaster recovery testing; and
- the maintenance and enhancement of CMHC's financial services
applications; and
- the analysis and programming of new applications systems.

KNOWLEDGE
essential - thorough knowledge of the Windows XP/2000 environment;
essential - working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS and DHCP;
essential - working knowledge of VB, SQL and MS Access;
essential - working knowledge of client/server development tools and
techniques;
asset - working knowledge of Java, Perl, C++, .Net, HTML, XML, Crystal
Reports and MS Excel;
asset - knowledge of CMHC business environment;
asset - knowledge of Windows 2003 and Windows Vista;
asset - knowledge of the Wall Street Systems FinanceKit application.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
5 years experience in progressively responsible positions in IT;
3 years experience in Active Directory, DNS and DHCP;
5 years experience coding in VB;
3 years experience in MS Access;
3 years experience in coding Transact SQL to access MS SQL Server;
3 years experience with stored procedures;
experience in Windows 2000 server-based LAN administration and support;
solid analytical and technical skills;
excellent written and verbal communication skills;
experience in the preparation of test plans, test data and system
testing;
experience preparing technical documentation;
familiarity with application development lifecycle;
experience working in a team environment;
Basic Security clearance
