We are currently seeking an Intellectual Property Research Scientist
with experience in conducting worldwide patent searches.
This position works closely with the Director of Intellectual Property
and legal Scientific Affairs and the Senior IP Research scientist, the
Intellectual Property Research Scientist will be responsible for the
complete investigation and analysis of the intellectual property (IP)
surrounding selective active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), to make
recommendations for non-infringement and/or patent generating IP
strategies, and to implement such strategies. More specifically, the
incumbent would conduct worldwide patent searches in order to establish
the intellectual property surrounding selected API/product
opportunities, evaluate the innovator versus generic API patent
landscape for analysis of competitiveness advantage, provide
scientific/IP support for strategic recommendations of API
manufacturers, make recommendations on opportunities for
non-infringement and/or patent generating IP opportunities in connection
with APIs.
Ideally, we are seeking 3-5 years of Postgraduate industrial or academic
experience in organic chemistry or similar, any training in Patent
and/or Intellectual Property would be an asset.
A Masters or Doctorate in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or similar is
required.
You must have experience with Patent searches, patent evaluation, patent
writing and/or other IP
Related activities.
Salary is in the $60-70K range plus bonus and benefits.
