Description:
Perl developer with Mason and Soap experience needed to assist Radio Free
Asia in further development of its Web site. RFA is a multi-lingual news
web site with content displayed in nine Asian languages and in English.
RFA uses Bricoalge as its CMS and the job will require templating in
Bricolage as well as the creation of new style sheets and user interfaces.
RFA began using the Bricolage CMS in September of 2004 and has greatly
expanded its content since then. There is a need to expand and improve
upon the site immediately. To best perform this work RFA believes that a
portion of the work should be performed on site. This will allow the
consultatnt to work directly with existing web support staff and provide on
the job training to them in template developing.
The consultant shall work 20 to 30 hours per week. It is preferred that at
least half of the hours to be performed at RFA’s offices in Washington,
D.C.
Required skills:
Perl, Mason, Soap, and XHTML developer with ability to quickly learn
Bricolage templating. (Bricolage templating is Perl based.) Able to
develop new style sheets to match RFA requirements.
Desired skills:
Bricolage templating experience
Experience working with news and multilingual Web sites
