Position: Web/Graphic Designer
Opening(s): 1 Contract Position (off site/project based)
Location: Lower Mainland, Vancouver, (BC)
Hourly Rate: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience

Scope of work/responsibilities:

We are seeking a Graphic designer with an eye for clean, professional web
design and layout, a solid understanding of web usability, and familiarity
with user interface and information architecture. Ideally candidate will
have experience designing both static and more complicated database driven
sites. Our goal is to identify and establish a rapport with a skilled web
designer to assist us with ongoing projects. All project work can be
completed offsite/remotely. Candidate will build mockups and prototypes
incorporating innovative designs and graphics using HTML, CSS, etc.
Experience optimizing images for web user interface and creating HTML/CSS
that matches a design layout, and understanding how mockups translate to
code would be ideally.

Required skills/qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must have 3+ years of web design experience for
medium to large sites and be knowledgeable about all aspects of site
architecture, user experience, color theory and color management on the web,
proper file formats, compression methods and techniques. Individual will be
skilled in producing a consistent, modern and professional image that
communicates about the company and to the target audience, demonstrating
strong conceptual and creative skills and commitment to customer
satisfaction. Candidate will have hands-on knowledge of current web markup
or scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. and extensive
experience with desktop publishing/imaging applications for use in creating
graphics optimized for the web.
