Hello all. I will be graduating this summer from Georgia Tech and I
studied chemical engineering. sometime in the middle of college I
started this security company with a couple of friends and before I
left the company we had the opportunity to sell the product to multiple
corporate clients and the firm is still making money.
I have left the company and now I am seeking a new job. Based on my
experience, the best job that comes to my mind is in strategy
consulting. I was contacted by Bain and I was told to get ready for the
interview in the fall.
Not only did we build a business, we grew it, managed employees, all
through proper strategy and execution etc.
My question to you all is that considering the fact that consulting
firms typically hire mba's what is the best way to sell myself to put
myself in a position to get hired as an associate consultant in a firm
like bain or bcg. Will they hire a chemical engineer who has
"practically" succeeded in business? What is the best way to get myself
positioned for such an interview? Any advice is welcome.
